Susan was born and raised in the rural Burton area of Washington County on a small cattle ranch and is a graduate of Burton High School, Blinn College, and Texas A&M University. Susan grew up in country and in the construction business and spent many weekends and summers doing all kinds of work, from roofing to painting. After college, she worked two years at UT- Austin then returned to Washington County and learned to build cabinets. For the next five years, she designed, built and installed custom cabinetry. She obtained her real estate salesperson license in 2006, and her Broker's license in 2010. Susan is an officer for the Burton Heritage Society, which maintains the historic Burton Railroad Depot and the Mt. Zion Historical Chapel and secretary of the Burton Chamber of Commerce. She is also an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Rehburg. Susan is married and has one son.
