Janis began her real estate career in 2001, focusing her efforts in Bastrop County. She specializes in luxury residential, historic homes and farm and ranch properties. Janis believes strongly in the importance of continuing education and has earned industry designations for these specializations which include Accredited Land Consultant, Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist, Certified Residential Specialist, Graduate REALTOR® Institute, Senior Real Estate Specialist and she has also earned her Broker’s license.

Prior to joining Kuper Sotheby’s International Realty, she spent 20 years with another International franchise. She led a successful Team for 8 years and has been consistently recognized as a Top Producer, not only in Bastrop County but also in the Central Texas area, in residential and farm and ranch sales.
As the daughter of a West Point Colonel and former Inspector General at Ft. Sam Houston, and as a 3rd generation REALTOR®, Janis learned the importance of discipline, integrity and character at an early age. Her foundation in the business world started with the Fortune 500 giants 3M, Lanier Worldwide and Xerox. During her 30 year career in the business equipment industry, Janis developed skills in operations and sales management, customer service, leadership, communications, marketing and negotiations.
Janis and her husband, Charles, moved to their ranch in Smithville in 1975. They have seen Bastrop County grow and prosper over the years. They have both played an active part in the Bastrop and Smithville communities. Charles retired as the Bastrop County Criminal District Attorney after 25 years of public service and now spends his time ranching and golfing. They enjoy traveling to Hawaii each year to spend quality time together. In her spare time, Janis also enjoys golfing, cooking and swimming.
